WHF: THE G O L D E N DAYS // 2012.10.23

The World Haus Fashion Chapter of my life is one I truly enjoy looking back on – it really was a great experience and adventure for me, which I can look back on with a full smile. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that my life revolved solely around shopping, traveling, school, and my boyfriend – life was easy and breezy with minimal responsibility on my shoulders. This type of lifestyle allowed me to spend more time with my blog and fashion obsession, which was great, but, I do need more in my life than just fun… I thrive on achievements and motivation, I love working towards new goals and am always thinking up new projects and ideas to strive for.

I’m thrilled that I am able to continue my blogging adventures, even though they are on a much smaller scale now, but at least they are still  present and that’s what makes me happy. I sometimes wonder what it would be like if I went full steam ahead with my blogging, like some of the other bloggers with who I started with and have now gained incredible successes because of their blogs… but then I come back and think, no, everything happens for a reason, and this is where I’m meant to be.

More importantly, I am truly happy with the direction my life is heading. Yes, there are sometimes speed bumps along the drive, but I can see my goal in the horizon and I can feel myself getting closer to achieving my mission each day. That’s what’s important. Remember that.

In term of this World Haus Fashion throwback, I thought I would pick a set of photos that  reflects the current season – and my favourite one; A U T U M N. This post is from October 2012, which really seems like forever ago!

The outfit I am wearing in these photos is one that I would still wear today; and actually still do (most of it anyways).

  • My dear Jeffrey Campbells haven’t been out for a stroll in a while, but they rest beautifully in my closet, just waiting for their reintroduction to the world – I honestly believe the day will come.
  • This forest green plaid shirt will never go out of style – I still wear it faithfully.
  • The Faux Fur vest that was a successful Winners find by my mom, remains a gem in my closet, and if another item which I don’t think will ever go out of style.

It’s actually so nice to see that the outfits I wore  few years ago, I can still relate to and wear nowadays. This generally means that my style, even though it has evolved, it really has always maintained itself. A few weeks ago I posted that I think I have finally figured out my style uniform and must have pieces, and, based on this WHF throwback post, it makes me smile, knowing that this was already my style set before I had even realized it!

So, it simply goes to show, just follow your intuition and it will all work out in the end!

WorldHausFashion Look: SEA OF BLUE // 2013.06.19

Looking back on the good old WORLD HAUS FASHION days really does put a smile on my face. Those really were the happy careless day; whenever someone told me that back then I didn’t believe them, but now, looking back, I think they may have been right to some extent.

Honestly though, all days are good if you make them; or at least try to look at them with a glass half full kind of viewpoint. Those WHF days were great because all I worried about was acing my classes, getting a few hours in at work, and planning a great vacation! Now, what’s great about these days is that I’m married, we own our very own home, and we have great stable careers.

These photos were taken in 2013 on a warm summer day. I’m pretty sure it was a Sunday, or maybe it seems like that because now I relate to Sundays as days I don’t work on, and we were going for a walk after dinner.

Looking back on my entire outfit; hair, clothes, shoes; I feel content with myself. This is something I would definitely still wear, and actually do. I still own all of these pieces and do wear them. I haven’t worn this set together like this, but I have worn the peices separately. I think these photos have brought back the inspiration to wear this outfit again soon – maybe once we have some nicer weather though.

Happy Flashback Friday!

Before I started THE P R E T T I E R LIFE, I had a blog called WORLD HAUS FASHION. I had this blog for about six years, and it’s main focus was all things FASHION. My regular posts consisted of my outfits – day to day style, while traveling, etc. I had such a great time with the blog, it really allowed me to grow and develop my style (and closet), and find my happiness through a hobby.

Once I started working full time, I found it harder and harder to post regularly, and spend enough time on a post to be satisfied with it. That is when I decided to stop, and just give myself some time off from blogging to focus on my career and personal life.

A few years later… I just couldnt sit there anymore; I had to write, had to post, there was just too much I wanted to share. The simple fact that I love writing and having a social outlet to share on, was enough reason for me to get back into the blogosphere.

Starting this blog, was like starting  a new chapter in my life – I still want to focus on FASHION, but there is so much more to my daily happiness these days! My focus has developed and grown since WHF, and I knew I could start a new blog to build on this.

The title really just happened, I had always had a saying that I’m all about the “prettier things in life”, so I figured, it would fit perfectly to what I wanted to accomplish with this new blog.

The Prettier Life IS about the Prettier Things in Life – of course, you may want to use a different word, other than  P R E T T Y, but that’s how I see things, and it works for me. In this day and age, it’s so important that we don’t get caught up in this fast paced lifestyle too much, and that we are stil able to take time to slow down and notice the wonders of this planet.

Although we might want to, we can’t all travel the world – thank goodness for those that can because they can share with us the beauty of this universe. We are able to make our everyday lives more special by reflecting and admiring whats around us.

Think about it, start noticing the “prettier things” around you, and tell me if you start smiling more!

Memories; one of the greatest things we can acquire in our lifetime. My greatest memories are created from traveling and sightseeing – the world is such a magnificent and magical place, with so many wonderful and unique places and things to see.

These photos were taken about three years ago in San Juan, Puerto Rico – it was one of the ports our cruise ship docked at. The city was absolutely beautiful – the architecture of the buildings were breathtaking, and the local environment were very welcoming. I would definitely like to go back one day.

My outfit for the day in San Juan – comfy and minimal, as it was very warm. I purchased these evergreen high waisted shorts from Primark in London, and the top from Aritzia (Talula brand). The classic Ray Bans also came out to play.

Happy #ThrowbackThursday

As I’ve mentioned before, prior to this blog, I had another blog called World Haus Fashion; this was my first blog, that I started in 2009, and was one of the best things I could have done for myself.

Not only was this a great experience for me, but it also taught me things along the way, about myself, my surroundings, and more! Now, practically everyone has a blog so it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but when I was first starting off we were all babies in the game.

Unfortunately, I was not able to continue working on my blog as much as I would have liked and with that I was less and less enganged with the community; just as others were finding out about these blogs and starting their own.

Although I wonder sometimes what my life would look like if I continued blogging instead of doing what I did,  I don’t regret the decisions I made. I believe everything happens for a reason, and I’ll stick to that.

I will be posting photos once in a while from my World Haus Fashion Days; I think that my style has changed a little bit; I’ve found a more uniform look which I tend to stickto most days, but overall; I still enjoy the having fun and experimenting with my outfits!

Happy Thursday!

img_0147I have been blogging for many years now – I wrote my first post back in 2009. Though I have not been very active lately, and may not publish all of my posts, I still like to consider myself a blogger. Well, it’s time to change that – I’m excited to be getting back into it. Even though this is a very busy time in my life, I just can’t sit still without a blog any longer.

Before I start posting new photos and styles, I’d like to look back on my earlier blogging years, for my blog World Haus Fashion. This was such a fun and exciting time in my life, but it also taught me many lessons – which I am grateful for. I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Looking through all of my photos taken for World Haus Fashion really puts a smile on my face. I love seeing how my style has evolved, and all of the different trends I’ve tried. Since I have so many photos from our sessions throughout the years, I’ve decided that every now and then I will post photos from one of these shoots.
